Katrina Anderson

Thank you for being a friend of

DC Petty Officer First Class

Katrina A. Anderson (SW)

One of the brightest shining stars in our galaxy, Kat, was a friend and family member to so many people. Her infectious smile, enormous personality, and unyielding loyalty made her unforgettable. As a member of the Navy her network grew worldwide as she was blessed to be surrounded by so much love and support.

We, the Anderson family, are shocked and devastated by the news of her passing. We are also so thankful for the expressions of grief we have received from every corner of the globe.

As we move through this process we have created this website as a way to publish updates about Kat in one place. Below we will provide what information we can as we are able.

We ask that you provide photos, videos, and stories in the form below so that we can hear how others will remember and celebrate her life.

If you are able, we have also set up a GoFundMe to accept donations to provide support as we navigate the loss of our daughter.April 3, 2024

Upcoming Services and Live Streams

Katrina will return home to Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 2nd. We expect her to arrive at 6pm. We will lives tream the ceremony that takes place at the airport. The link will be posted on this website on Tuesday and for those unable to watch live we will upload the footage afterwards.

The timing of her wake, funeral, and memorial are still being finalized, but will be during the first week of April. We will also be live streaming the wake for those who aren’t able to attend. Due to lack of wireless services at the cemetery we will be unable to live stream her funeral. However, we will upload all footage as soon as we can following the services. Please be patient as this may take a small amount of time.

We are so thankful for the continued support from all of you and will be in touch with more details as we get them.

Katrina’s Funeral Timing and Location

We are still awaiting an official timeline and are unable to make announcements regarding exact details. However, we have decided to share a small update anyways because we know that travel will need to be arranged for many who want to attend. Katrina will be returned home to California where we will hold each of her services. At this time we are estimating that her wake, funeral, and memorial will take place over two days during the first week of April. Again, these dates are not yet finalized, but they are our best estimation at this time.

If you have reached out to a member of our family over text, phone, or social media requesting to attend please also email family@loveforkat.com as that is our primary contact method as a family at the moment.

Planning of Funeral and Memorial Services

At this time, we have begun planning Kat’s funeral and memorial services. We will be distributing information for these events privately among Kat’s family, closest friends and fellow seamen. We know that she had a profound impact on many lives and ask for your understanding in our wish to distribute this delicate information selectively.

We will monitor family@loveforkat.com for any messages from individuals who express they feel the need to be present for these ceremonies.

Thank You for Your Condolences

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the support that has been sent our way. We have felt the love Katrina gathered in her life through the sheer number of calls and texts we have received this weekend.

At this time we ask that you refrain from reaching out to our phones directly to allow us space to grieve as a family. We would still love to hear from you which is why we set up the email family@loveforkat.com.

Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are so blessed that Katrina was surrounded by this wonderful community of people.
